01 Jan Welcome to 2016!
I love the start of a new year, when I can look ahead to the next 12 months, setting goals, planning what I want to achieve, and thinking where I’d like to be by this time next year. Of course, it doesn’t always work out quite as planned, as a review of last year’s plans and resolutions shows, but steps have been taken in the right direction!
What I have learnt over the years is that simply adding a resolution or goal to the list may not be enough. Part of working towards our goals can be getting others involved, calling on the support of those who we think can help us move forward, or hold us accountable for what we have decided to do.
So, with this in mind, who could you recruit as your supporter during the next year? Or is there some training or learning which would help you to move forward? Who will challenge you to achieve something you might find difficult or a bit scary? What help could you ask for, or what help might you be able to give in return? Perhaps a friend or colleague could be part of your support team, or recommend a new way of achieving your goal.
Make your plan visible – tell others – listen – learn and go for it!
Happy New Year!
